Located in the north of Portugal, Paredes is part of the Sousa Valley. With an approximate area of over 60 sq miles, the municipality of Paredes presents itself as administratively divided into 24 parishes which, as a whole, are the home to around 85 thousand inhabitants.

Economically, it is the country's largest furniture producing center, concentrating around 65% of the national production.

Currently, Paredes is a cornerstone in the Furniture Route, a concept translating quality and design to the furniture produced in the territory.

It is a project revealing a unique opportunity for optimizing Paredes' furniture industry, granting it with the prestige it has earned for so long, and projecting its reliability and competitiveness.

Past initiatives had the main goal of uniting the municipality's population around Paredes - Furniture Route, and now we are stepping forward with national and even international challenges.

The Executive staff currently leading this municipality works daily, gathering all efforts, to contribute to the sustained and harmonious development of the entire municipality.
